APPA Music Festival 3 Day Course

This is also organised by the APPA Music Festival Committee. It is for accomplished players in Years 4 to 8 who wish to develop their musicianship skills in orchestral and band performance while working towards performing at the Auckland Primary Principals’ Association Music Festival on two nights during November at the Auckland Town Hall.

Registration fee $30 per student. Will be returned if application is unsuccessful. Payment can be made by cheque, online banking or credit card (online registrations only)

PARTICIPANTS IN THE 3-DAY COURSE MUST ALSO ATTEND:

  1. Two or three Saturday or Sunday afternoon rehearsals in October & November
  2. The dress rehearsal at the Auckland Town Hall (afternoon) and the two performance nights at the Town Hall.

It is important that all players attend ALL the allocated rehearsals.

Player Levels

Advanced players of Strings: violin, viola, cello, double bass. Grade 4 or above For players who have an instrumental & theory level of at least Grade 2. Music reading ability is necessary for improvisation in Jazz and popular styles. Saxophones please state soprano, tenor or alto
Woodwind: 2 octave range One pianist/keyboard player experienced in Jazz styles Woodwind: 2 octave range
Brass: 1.5 octave range Saxophones please state soprano, tenor or alto. Electric guitars only. Brass: 1.5 octave range
